Dear Friends: I am happy to announce that I will begin a weekly Adult Prayer and Study group at St. Michael on Wednesday mornings at 9 am in the rectory. We will begin with an 8 session Ascension Press gospel video series entitled Luke: The Story of Salvation Fulfilled. The sessions will be about 90 minutes long. We will begin on September 24 but will skip the weeks of the Second Harvest food distribution on Oct. 15 and Nov. 19. Terry and Anita Matherne's Tuesday 6 pm evening prayer group will also begin this series then so you can attend morning or evening makeup sessions if you have a conflict for a session or two. Please register if you plan to attend. There are personal workbooks available to purchase from the publisher for about $30. After further discussion, the monthly Rosary and Adoration will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 9 AM. The Eucharistic Minister meeting will be held immediately following the Rosary and Adoration.

We're excited to host our annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 25 at 5:30 PM, but need YOUR help to make it a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our parish community! The Second Collection, for the June 29, 2025 weekend will be the Peter's Pence Collection to support the Universal Church and the work of the Holy See, including the charitable works of Pope Leo. The American Legion and other members of the Des Allemands area held its annual Armed Forces Memorial Day Ceremony at our Parish Hall this past Monday. It was a very nice commemoration, led by the Hahnville High School ROTC group. The names of the area veterans who recently died were added to the Veterans Memorial along with a wreath of flowers. May we all take time to honor the service of our deceased American Veterans this Memorial Day.

This past Saturday, 22 people attended a pilgrimage to New Orleans shrines for the Jubilee Year of Hope. It was an educational and spiritual event and they received special indulgence graces for their participation. You are also able to receive these graces by making your own private pilgrimage to any of the Jubilee designated churches in the Archdiocese and saying the appropriate prayers. St. John the Baptist C hurch in Edgard is the closest one to us.

Thank you to all 330 people who voted in our Pastoral Council election. The two elected members are Danny Ledet and Blake Naquin. Father Lance has appointed Mary Sandolph to also serve on the council. They will serve for three years. We congratulate them and look forward to their leadership in planning for the present and future needs of our parish. We also thank all those who accepted nominations.
