Dear Friends:
We just completed our fiscal year on June 30 and I am happy to report that we had $1,500 more income than expenses, so we narrowly covered all our bills. However, we just received news from the archdiocese that we owe our insurance deductible on all the work that was done after Hurricane Ida at St. Gertrude and St. John. This figure is $908,000. Hopefully, FEMA will cover 80% so we will owe about $181,233. Until then, that is our debt. I will give a more detailed yearly report soon. Our insurance and other bills will decrease this year since we will not have the property at St. Gertrude.
We of course always have unexpected expenses for repairs and small projects. This past year we replaced our broken organ for $10,000. We asked for special donations for this and received $1,200. Fundraising covered the rest. We also had a special drive to remove the stained glass windows from St. Gertrude so we can use them elsewhere and preserve this art and history. We hoped to raise $50,000 for that and received $7,495. If you made a pledge please fulfill that commitment so we can cover that cost. We hope to put one window in the St. Gertrude cemetery indoor mausoleum soon. Please be generous with your regular contributions to our parish and support our fundraising efforts.
Pray for all our parish material and spiritual needs so we can move forward with other large projects needed in the parish and continue our ministries in the community.
Sincerely,
Fr. Lance
