St. Michael’s Angels are asking parishioners to donate cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, fudge, bread, etc. for a Fall Bake Sale. These donated baked goods will be for sale after all masses on November 21 & 22. Get your treats just in time for Thanksgiving.

On Monday, Nov. 2nd, in the St. Gertrude Cemetery, we will begin praying the rosary at 9:30 AM, followed by an outdoor All Souls Day mass at 10:00 AM. Mass will be held in the grassy area, so you must bring your own chairs and shade. Afterward, Father will bless the graves there, the neighboring Christen Cemetery, and the Graham/Schmill Cemetery near the St. Gertrude Church building. Around 11:00, he will bless the graves at the Mennonite Cemetery in Des Allemands, followed by those at Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche around 11:15 AM. If you wish for a particular grave to be especially blessed, you must be present when Fr. Lance is doing the general blessing of all the graves.

On Sunday, November 1st, the 10:30 AM mass at St. Michael Church will be a Family Mass. We will especially honor those, from St. Michael’s, who died during the past year, by announcing their names and lighting a candle at the beginning of mass. This day, we will begin writing the names of our loved ones in the Book of the Living which will be present on the altar and prayed for during the month of November. A fellowship social will follow the mass.

Many are planning to clean their tombs before All Saints and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 & 2. Here is info concerning the care of the tombs. All crypts in the mausoleums are enrolled in the perpetual care program along with 10 other tombs who paid for that service. All other tombs are to be cleaned, painted etc. by their owners.

Each Wednesday, with the exception of the 3rd Wednesday of each month due to Second Harvest, Fr. Lance will lead a Prayer & Spirituality Teaching Session in the Rectory following the 8:30 AM mass. If you’re able, please plan to attend the 8:30 AM mass in the Church followed by a 9 :00 AM teaching session in the Rectory.

The Mass Intentions Book for 2027 is open from October 18th - November 29th. Mass intentions will be accepted throughout the year. All mass intentions will be accepted on a Mass Intention Form. These forms are available on the table in the rear of the church. You may place the form with your stipend into the collection basket, drop off or mail to the parish office. Masses may be paid for by check or cash. If paying by check, please make your check only for the mass intentions, do not include any weekly offerings.

On Monday, November 2, beginning at 9:30 AM, in front of the St. Gertrude Cemetery’s original Mausoleum, the Rosary will be recited. At 10:00 AM, Mass will be celebrated followed by the Blessing of the Graves at St. Gertrude Cemetery, followed by, in this order, the Christen Cemetery, the Graham/Schmill Cemetery, the Mennonite Cemetery, and the Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche.

We are in need of a 3rd grade teacher for our religious education program. If you are interested, please contact Suzanne Miller or Father Lance.

Volunteers are needed to clean up St. Gertrude Cemetery before All Saints & All Souls Day. Please prayerfully consider volunteering your time and talents to help clean graves and refresh flowers of your parents and grandparents. Some have no more people here to help with their family graves, so even consider adopting a grave or two. Let's work together to help maintain the sacred burial spaces of our families.

The deceased will be honored at the November 1, 10:30 AM Family Day Mass.

October is the Month of The Holy Rosary. In honor of Our Blessed Mother and the most holy rosary, we will be praying the rosary approximately 20 minutes before mass time at all masses in the month of October. Those of you who are interested in leading the rosary, please sign-up on the sheet on the table in the rear of the church. Your cooperation and participation are greatly appreciated!

Show your St. Michael Pride and help support our ministries! We have both red and white tee-shirts in youth & adult sizes. Aprons are available in white. Please pick up an order form on the back table in the church. Place in envelope and put it in the collection or drop it off at the parish office by October 1st.

We are in need of Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers. Please contact the rectory, if you are interested in participating in either of these ministries.
