Pope Leo has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, on April 3rd, which helps Christians in the Holy Land, where they are now less than 2% of the population. Your support is essential to help the Church minister in parish-es, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines of Christianity, including Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem, to name a few. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous.
Please return your Rice Bowls by Easter Sunday, April 5th. You may count your contributions and make a check payable to St. Michael the Archangel, then place your check in an envelope marked "Operation Rice Bowl". Your contributions will be sent to CRS. Thank you for your generous support!
Private daily recitation of the novena begins on Good Friday, concluding in the church on April 12th at 3:00 p.m. with recitation of the Divine Mercy chaplet, novena and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and
closing with benediction.
Jesus asks us...... Will you sit for one hour with me? Please sign up to spend some time with Our Lord on Holy Thursday evening after the 6:00 pm mass. There is a sign-up sheet in the rear of the church. Please plan to come and spend some time with Our Lord on this special evening. Adoration will begin after mass and continue until midnight.
Dear Friends: On Holy Saturday, April 4, the Regnum Christi lay group of the Legionaries of Christ Priests will sponsor a mission in our parish going door to door to invite people to come to church for Easter. They will meet in our parish hall at 9:00 AM for a training on how to visit the homes. Afterward they will go out as two person teams to speak to people in our parish neighborhoods. Lunch will be provided, and we will spend time in prayer and group reflection in the afternoon. It will end about 3:00 PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to reach out to our Catholic and other neighbors. All are welcome to participate but please register so we can plan ahead. Missionaries under 18 y.o. must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Contact Shari Schexnayder at 504-579-6650 or [email protected]. What a wonderful way to celebrate Easter Faith by welcoming our brothers and sisters! —- Yours in Christ, Fr. Lance
