The American Legion and other members of the Des Allemands area held its annual Armed Forces Memorial Day Ceremony at our Parish Hall this past Monday. It was a very nice commemoration, led by the Hahnville High School ROTC group. The names of the area veterans who recently died were added to the Veterans Memorial along with a wreath of flowers. May we all take time to honor the service of our deceased American Veterans this Memorial Day.
This past Saturday, 22 people attended a pilgrimage to New Orleans shrines for the Jubilee Year of Hope. It was an educational and spiritual event and they received special indulgence graces for their participation. You are also able to receive these graces by making your own private pilgrimage to any of the Jubilee designated churches in the Archdiocese and saying the appropriate prayers. St. John the Baptist C hurch in Edgard is the closest one to us.
